The OKIE811 Excavator Education Program is a free, self-paced online certification course designed for professional excavators, contractors, and others who work near underground utilities. This Oklahoma-specific program provides essential training in damage prevention, safe digging, and compliance with the Oklahoma Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act (OUFDPA).
By completing the course, you’ll gain the knowledge needed to protect people, property, and underground infrastructure, and earn your official OKIE811 Certificate of Completion.
What You’ll Learn
In just about 1½ hours, participants will explore key topics including:
Planning and administration of excavation projects
Site preparation and actions for safe excavation
Trenching dangers, damages, and consequences
The Oklahoma Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act (OUFDPA)
You’ll also review the 5 Steps of Safe Digging, ticket types and timelines, and real-world examples of how to prevent damage incidents on the job.

Assessment: 25-question test (must score 80% or higher to pass)
Certificate Validity: 1 year from completion
